Over a year since I updated this blog. That is so pathetic. The taproom/brewery options on the Colorado Front Range are incredible! It is so much fun trying samplers at new places. I feel lucky to have these choices. Friends from out of state visit us, and are amazed at the options. Some are overwhelmed; much like when people start exploring new food options.
So... where to start...
First and foremost, brewery/taproom overview
Living the Dream is still a top notch taproom for me. Great beers, relaxed environment, just meets my needs.
Colorado Plus is also still tops!
Other new top places:
Renegade Brewing
The E3 IPA - my favorite IPA for the past 10 months
Hammer and Sickle Russian Imperial Stout
Declaration Brewing
Great brews and taproom
City Star Brewing
Red Nectar - Best red yet
Cannonball Creek
Usually has a great IPA on tap
Golden City Brewing
Places I like (I'll choose to go to these places)
Grist
Great Frontier Brewing
The Pint Room
Not a brewery/taproom, but over 80 local brews on tap
Chain Reaction
Brews on Broadway
Often too loud for me if there is a band, but I like the full bodied beers
Locavore
Dead Hippie
I've been there once, and enjoyed it. Need another visit to confirm
Finkle and Garf
Places I will go if there is some other reason (4-wheel group, meeting friends)
Odyssey
Caution Brewing
And last... places I want to go
Odd13 Brewing
? I'm sure there are others!
It has been so much fun going to new places over the past year! Well over 80% of the taprooms have food trucks with interesting food. Some great, some are just OK. BUT, it adds to the variety of trying new beer and food.
Hopefully I'll do better this summer updating this blog about beer, food, and maybe other topics of interest to me as I continue my Colorado Beer Tour.
'Til next time!
Sam
